(B-0) Intro to Laying a Foundation

The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, and that first step is the most important.  There was once a time when Albert Einstein had to learn basic multiplication.  We would hope our surgeon would first have learned his basic anatomy; and our lawyer to have read the Constitution.  In the same way, to extensively develop our knowledge of God, we must first take hold of certain foundational truths.  These are not man-made truths, but truths derived from God’s Word.  This “B” section of Grace Gate speaks to some foundational understandings that will be built upon in later levels.

This “B” section seeks to answer questions such as, “Is God really free to do what He wants?”, “What is God’s primary motive in everything?”, “Does some people’s rejection of God mean God has failed some people?”, “How can God blame us for what we do, if He already has everything planned out?”, “Can God tell people they should do something, and then not let them do it?”, and “Do people have ‘free-will’?”

The Scripture’s answers to these foundational questions provides insight into the nature and purposes of God.  And they are the signposts that will lead us further down the road of fuller understanding.
